Making a Change

Okay, anyone who knows me knows that I have been getting bigger and bigger over the past 4 years.  I've quit all my bad habits except for one -EATING.  I finally decided it was time to do something about it, and so I went to my doctor for a check up.  Unfortunately I discovered that I have several health issues that if left unchecked - could be very dangerous.  That's good motivation to change my high calorie - sedentary life style.  So, I'm now on the Medifast diet, taking high blood pressure meds, aspirin, heart meds and cholesterol lowering pills, plus exercising and learning how to change the way I eat and cook.  No more sugar, butter, white flour, high fructose corn syrup, A&W Root Beer - basically, no more anything that tastes good.
Anyway, I've decided to keep weekly track of my progress - good or bad - with respect to the diet and see where I wind up in 5 or 6 months - hopefully 50 pounds lighter.   If Marie Osmond can do it, so can I.  My goal is to be back to 105 lbs.  The 3 weeks has been rewarding with a 13+ lb. weight loss.  However, that's probably mostly water loss and I don't expect to continue to lose weight that fast - although it would be nice.  I'm really do feel better now - have more energy - but have also discovered that being your basic couch (or desk) potato doesn't keep one in good physical shape.  It's now time to add exercise to the mix.  Anyway, I want to be around to love and keep up with my grandkids so I'm making a change.  No more "Mrs. Butterton" for me!
