Draper Temple Dedication
Draper Temple Dedication
I had the opportunity last night, March 22, 2009, to attend the final dedication of the Draper Temple located in Draper, Utah. I wasn't at the actual temple site, but was instead at my stake center where the dedication session was broadcast to all Utah stake centers. The stake centers were considered, for the duration of the session, to be an extension of the temple itself. The stake centers were cleaned and beautifully prepared for the sacred event, and it was amazing to be there. Truly a little bit of heaven here on earth.
There were several inspirational speakers and then President Thomas S. Monson dedicated the 129th temple. The choir that sang was from a stake in Sandy, Utah, and their voices were truly Angelic! At the end, everyone participated in the Hosanna Shout with our white hankies. Then we joined the choir in singing The Spirit of God Like A Fire is Burning. The spirit was burning! It was powerful and you could feel that this was now a house of the Lord.

Hi Kate,
ReplyDeleteMy wife and I also were there at the wonderful 2p.m. session. We were wondering if you remember who spoke before Elder Kikuchi about Russian saints making a personal sacrifice to go to the temple in Sweden? Our blog is tagenanderic.blogspot.com Thanks for your help!
