Cuckoo Clocks

One of my favorite memories of my Grandma Nielsen's house and later my Mom and Dad's house was the sound of a ticking clock.  My Grandma's clock now resides at Karen's house, and I have a beautiful old clock from Denmark in my living room.  I am one of those people that enjoy white noise.  I find it soothing and that makes me feel good.  Zach on the other hand, unless threatened by me, will lock the cuckoo's door so he can't come out and cuckoo, or stop the pendulum from swinging!

I also love Black Forest German cuckoo clocks and I have two of them.  One or both are usually not working for some dumb reason (Zach - he hates them), but now they are both working.  Somehow I fixed the one that's been broken for months and I'm praying it keeps working.  They are old, made in the Black Forest, don't work half the time, but I love them!  This is now one of the rare times when both cuckoo clocks are set to the right time, cuckooing the right number of times, and Zach is still asleep!  :)

Clock that my Aunt Pia brought over for her Antique shop from Denmark

Clock I bought on ebay, it cuckoos and had dancers that dance - a Black Forest clock.

This clock is from the Black Forest too

When we moved I packed and taped my big clock as safely as i could, but it quit working.  I'm afraid to touch that one - it is so old and delicate it needs a real clock repair person which many years ago was over $300.00 so it will just hang on the wall and look cool to me.  :)
